To the north of town, a 2-mile long multi-use path follows alongside Florida Road as far as County Road 250.

Animas River Trail

The Animas River Trail is a 7.5-mile long paved pathway that follows the route of the river through most of the Durango area. The trail starts 2.5 miles to the north of the downtown area. The trail follows the river which takes a loop just west of the downtown area. The trail then heads to the south side of Durango. This section is less congested and has fewer road crossings.
