The Cottonwood Creek Trail is a 5-mile long paved pathway located on the north side of Colorado Springs. The trail spans between the Pikes Peak Greenway near Interstate 25 and Austin Bluffs Parkway at E. Woodmen Road.

The Cottonwood Creek Trail wanders through natural areas along the creek and adjacent to residential neighborhoods.


The is Cottonwood Creek Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail travels away from busy streets and congestion.

There are underpasses for most of the major road crossings, namely Corporate Drive, Interstate 25, Vincent Drive, N. Academy Boulevard, Rangewood Drive and E. Woodmen Road, and Austin Bluffs Parkway. There is one major street crossing at N. Union Boulevard.

There is a 462' gain in elevation from the southwestern end of the trail to the northeastern end.

Pikes Peak Greenway: the two trails meet between Mark Dabling Boulevard and Corporate Drive, just west of Interstate 25, and south of E. Woodmen Road.

End Points

The southwestern end of the Cottonwood Creek Trail is located along the Pikes Peak Greenway to the south of Woodmen Road.

The northeast end of the trail is located near the intersection of Woodmen Road and Austin Bluffs Parkway. At this point the pavement stops, but a gravel trail heads to the east.
